Is there a free trial?
The direct edition includes a 14-day free trial that activates itself on first launch. The Mac App Store handles Store purchases.
Is it really a one-time purchase?
Yes. One payment, no subscription. Direct-edition updates use the in-app updater; Store-edition updates come from the Mac App Store.
Does my library leave my Mac?
The index, your audio and all analysis stay local, and there is no telemetry. Optional features you switch on do reach out — AI tagging sends filenames and computed features (never audio) to the provider whose key you supplied, and licensing, updates, artwork lookup, voice generation and streaming sync each talk to their own service.
Do I need an AI subscription?
No. AudioVault can organize files locally without an AI account. For richer tags, connect Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini. The direct edition also supports an existing Claude subscription.
What are the requirements?
macOS 12 or newer for the direct edition, or macOS 13 or newer from the Mac App Store. Both support Apple Silicon and Intel.
I bought SampleVault. Do I pay again?
No. AudioVault is the same product after a rename; your license and your existing index carry over automatically on first launch.
